Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are prioritising a move for James Maddison this summer and believe they can win the race for the attacking midfielder.
The report states that James Maddison is expected to be one of the hottest properties in England this summer, with Newcastle United said to be admirers of the Leicester City star, who is also alleged to be on the radar of Arsenal.
However, it is said that Tottenham are hopeful that they can beat both the Magpies and the Gunners to the 26-year-old’s signature.
The report explains that Spurs have made Maddison their top summer transfer target and are of the belief that they can sign the player even though they do not have a manager in place at the moment or European football to offer next season.
This update from Football Insider follows a report by The Sun a couple of days ago which suggested that Tottenham and Newcastle are locked in a battle for the Foxes star, who is valued at around £40m.

Even though Maddison has just one year left on his contract at the King Power Stadium, I do not think Leicester would sell him for £40m.
Given the interest that the England international is generating, the Foxes will look to get a bidding war going in an effort to push up the midfielder’s price to around £50m.
