Report: Tottenham bid £60m for Barcelona attacker – Want summer transfer

According to a report from Spanish outlet SPORT, Tottenham Hotspur have put a £60m offer on the table for Barcelona’s Raphinha, with a view to signing the Brazilian in the summer transfer window.

Raphinha only signed for Barcelona in the summer of 2022, but has already found himself falling down the pecking order at the Catalan club thanks to the emergence of youngster Lamine Yamal.

At the end of last year, it was claimed Spurs could be willing to offer Raphinha an escape route from his situation in Spain (Football Transfers).

It was suggested that Barcelona were not actively looking to sell the 27-year-old in January, but that stance could have changed had Spurs made an approach (AS).

Spurs looking to sign Raphinha in the summer

Now, with the transfer window closed, it seems the Lilywhites are stepping up their approach and lining up a summer move for the winger, with Relovo reporting the North London side have reached out to Barcelona about a switch.

This is backed up by SPORT (relayed by Forbes), with a claim that Raphinha, who is now wanted by Liverpool as a Mohamed Salah replacement, is already the subject of an offer from Tottenham.

It is believed the Lilywhites have put forward a €70m (£60m) offer for Raphinha. The profit on the original £55m purchase would be a rather favourable deal for the La Liga outfit as they look to stay on the right side of Financial Fair Play regulations.

However, an “auction” could begin in the summer should Liverpool act on their interest.

Spurs Web Opinion

I know Raphinha did fairly well during his time with Leeds United, but I really don’t feel like he would be a good investment for us, especially at that price. I would much rather see us going for a younger prospect, who will cost less and offer more potential.
