Report: Tottenham close to agreeing sale of first-team striker

It has hardly been the dream move for Vincent Janssen at Tottenham Hotspur, with the Dutch failing to hit the ground running. In fact, he hit the ground with a splutter and has never been able to regain his footing.

Janssen has been largely unused by Pochettino for the last two seasons, bar a few cameos towards the end of the last campaign. However, this may have been more about putting the striker in the shop window.

It appears as if the Dutchman could be expendable this summer and one report even goes as far to say that Spurs are close to agreeing a sale.

Record state that Mexican club, Monterrey, are in advanced negotiations with Janssen himself and are close to agreeing a deal with Tottenham.

The 25-year-old is out of contract next summer, so Spurs would be wise to sell up now before they lose him for nothing. Tottenham signed Janssen back in 2016 for £18.6m (Sky Sports).
