Report: Tottenham closing in striker deal as early as next week

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the capture of a striker after completing deals for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart.

The report claims that the club have assessed various options over the past few months as they aim to bring in a striker than can provide cover for Harry Kane and help take the goalscoring burden off the England captain’s shoulders.

It is revealed that talks have been held with Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, while Jose Mourinho has personally contacted Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson over the possibility of coming to Spurs.

The report suggests that Mourinho is quite flexible and open to a number of options that the club have explored.

It is claimed that Spurs are now growing confident that a deal for a striker can be concluded as early as next week.

One option the club are said to be exploring is signing a striker on loan with a view to making the deal permanent later in the season or next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

With our defensive midfield and goalkeeper situations now sorted, a right-back, a centre-back and a new striker should be our priorities for the rest of the transfer window. Going by the type of cut-price, low-risk signings we have made so far, I suspect Callum Wilson is the one we are likely to go for as a back up to Kane.
