Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that there is plenty of excitement at Tottenham regarding the impact Destiny Udogie will have next season.
Although Ivan Perisic has posted some impressive numbers since arriving at Spurs last summer, with nine assists to his name across all competitions, some parts of the Croat’s game have left a lot to be desired, including his one vs one defending.
On the other hand, while Ryan Sessegnon has developed into a top defender, there have been question marks about the 22-year-old’s impact at the other end of the pitch.
Spurs fans will be hoping that Udogie is the answer to Tottenham’s issues at left wing-back, with the 20-year-old continuing to develop impressively at Udinese this season.
The Italy Under-21 international was in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the clash against West Ham on Sunday as he watched his parent club register a clinical 2-0 win.
Gold revealed that Udogie’s visit to the stadium was kept low-key so as to not upset anyone at Udinese, who had lost against Inter Milan on Saturday.
The journalist added that those at the North London club are excited about the impact that the left-back will have at the club next season.

Sessegnon has simply not developed the way Conte would have been hoping for, with the 22-year-old not showing himself to be capable of handling the ball in tight areas or making a yard from himself in the final third.
There is no doubt that Udogie will be a big upgrade over the former Fulham man.
