Report: Tottenham come up with four-man shortlist to replace Hugo Lloris

Football Insider have now revealed that Fabio Paratici has identified four goalkeepers who could replace Hugo Lloris this summer.

Lloris is now close to a return to action after missing almost two months with a knee ligament injury, with the Tottenham captain playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Hotspur Way last week (The Evening Standard).

However, Football Insider assert that the 36-year-old faces an uncertain future in North London, with Spurs thought to be after a younger, more long-term option between the sticks.

Paratici has reportedly compiled a shortlist that consists of Brentford’s David Raya, AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, Brighton’s Robert Sanchez and Manchester United’s Dean Henderson as potential options to take over the gloves from the Frenchman.

The publication adds that Raya is near the top of Tottenham’s wishlist, with the Spaniard expected to be available for around £30m in the summer since he will be down to the final year of his contract at the Brentford Community Stadium in June.

Football Insider add that Henderson, who is currently on loan at the City Ground, is expected to leave Old Trafford permanently in the summer, with Chelsea and Nottingham Forest also thought to be interested in the England international’s services.

Out of these four options, I have no doubt that David Raya would be the one that appeals to Tottenham the most.

Not only is the 26-year-old an excellent shot-stopper and good with the ball at his feet but he would also be the cheapest among the aforementioned names, owing to his contract situation.
