Report: Tottenham complete the signing of highly-rated Ipswich youngster

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign promising defender Calum Logan from Ipswich Town in preparation for next season.

Logan has developed through the ranks in the Ipswich academy and has been turning heads with his performances this year, where he has been playing a year up from his standard age level.

He was part of the Ipswich Under 18s side that reached the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup this season. Unfortunately, Logan was sent off during a 4-2 defeat to West Ham as the Tractor Boys bowed out of the competition.

The 16-year-old also made the step up to international level for his age group in November of last year and looks set to have an exciting future ahead of him for both club and country.

Logan, a left-sided centre-back, had already caught the attention of Tottenham last summer but made the call to stick with Ipswich for the 2022/23 season.

The youngster has been at Hotspur Way recently to finalise a deal and sources at Football Insider now report that the deal is done.

Logan will join the Tottenham Hotspur academy for the 2023/24 season and it will be interesting to see how he handles the step up to a bigger club.

It is thought Tottenham regard Logan as a future first-team player and there is talk of “huge” potential for the young defender.

The signing marks a recent recruitment drive from Spurs where new talent has been brought in to bolster the development squad, and existing academy stars have signed new contracts at the club.
