Report: Tottenham confident they will sign target next week

Tottenham Hotspur may be in need of a new left-back next season if Danny Rose secures a move away from the club. The 12-year Spurs veteran was not included in the pre-season tour squad, as the club are allowing him to pursue an exit (Tottenham).

However, the Lilywhites may have a long-term replacement as early as next week, with one report stating that the club are confident they will sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.

Football Insider claim that Spurs will pay a fee of around £25m for the wing-back, who has just one year remaining on his current Fulham contract.

Fulham have therefore had their hand forced, as they must decide whether to sell the player now for a profit or risk losing him on a free in the summer of 2020.

The report adds that Spurs are confident after holding extensive talks with Fulham over the structure of the potential deal this summer. It is unclear as to whether Ryan’s twin brother Steven will be part of a deal or not.
