Report: Tottenham cool interest in centre-back and will now look elsewhere

According to Football Insider, sources have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have cooled their interest in out-of-favour Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah.

Chalobah has been linked with a move to the North London club ever since the summer but the situation seems to have changed.

Sky Sports were the first to reveal on November 21 that Spurs had cooled their interest in the 24-year-old following his latest injury setback. The report explained that the Cobham graduate is not expected to recover from his injury by the end of January.

A few days later, journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport offered a completely different perspective. He claimed that Spurs were still very much interested in Chalobah and were expected to reignite their interest in the January transfer window.

Former Spurs keeper Paul Robinson, told Football Insider recently that he feels Chalobah will not join Spurs as he cannot see the two London clubs doing business.

Tottenham have made their decision on Chalobah

Football Insider report have now revealed that Tottenham have cooled their interest in the Chelsea centre-back. Bayern Munich could revisit their interest in Chalobah in January but Spurs are likely to explore other avenues.

Having made 63 appearances for the Blues first team, Chalobah is certainly not lacking experience (Transfermarkt). However, his fitness issues could put an asterisk on any potential move in January.

Spurs Web Opinion

Chalobah has been going through an injury issue for quite a while now and he seems no closer to returning to action. Chelsea have mysteriously kept the details surrounding his issue under wraps and have not given away much.

Unless the Cobham graduate can come back and prove his fitness, I don’t see any top club including Spurs making a move for the 24-year-old. It is fair that we have cooled our interest in him and we should be looking at other options.
