Report: Tottenham could battle Newcastle for 15-goal striker this summer

Bild have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now plotting a move to bring Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush to England when the transfer window reopens in June.

Marmoush, who was a winger by trade, has thrived since being moved to the centre-forward role at the start of this season.

The Egyptian international has managed 15 goals and five assists so far across all competitions this campaign, and his performances are allegedly attracting interest from the Premier League.

Tottenham face competition for Omar Marmoush

Bild say that Marmoush is now on the wishlist of both Spurs and the Magpies ahead of the summer, with the two clubs potentially set to battle it out for the player’s signature.

The report adds that Frankfurt are concerned about losing the 25-year-old, who is said to harbour dreams of playing in England.

It is asserted that while the Bundesliga club would like to hold on to Marmoush, they are expected to listen to offers in the region of €30m to €40m (£25.6m-£34.2m) for their star man.

Marmoush fits the profile of forwards that Postecoglou prefers as not only is he a tireless worker off the ball but he is also quite versatile and can interchange and operate on the flanks if necessary. The reported price is also fairly reasonable and Spurs might thus be tempted to put an offer in for the Egyptian.
