Tottenham Hotspur will be determined to hang onto their best players this summer, but perhaps the most important figure at the club in recent years has actually been the manager.

In his five years in charge, Pochettino has taken Spurs from a club on the fringes of Champions League football to the final of the competition.

The Argentine has also achieved this heroic feat without spending a single penny on transfers over the past 15 months.

However, reports emerging yesterday have been linking Pochettino with a move to Serie A giants Juventus (90min), after it was announced current boss Massimiliano Allegri would be leaving at the end of the season.

A report from the Express claims Pochettino is favourite to take over at Juve, while Tottenham have Allegri at the top of their wishlist to replace Poch.

Could we see a unique manager swap in the summer?

Spurs Web Opinion:

Regardless of whether Eriksen, Alderweireld, or any other players leave, I am a firm believer that if Pochettino is at the helm, Spurs will still be moving forward. Levy needs to tie Poch down to as long a contract as possible and give him the funds he needs to take Tottenham to the next level and achieve what he wants to achieve in the game. Fingers crossed the Lilywhites have a Champions League under their belt to throw weight behind their cause in the summer. I have a nasty feeling that if Poch leaves, so will the glue that holds this Spurs side together.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I believe that Poch is an honourable man; unless we do something unreasonable in his eyes, he will see out his contract. This report is wishful thinking on the Part of the Old Lady.

However something unreasonable would be to fail to invest this transfer window. I trust that will not happen if the right players are available with salary demands appropriate to our wage structure (which I trust will increase).

All these rumours and endless reading between the lines are a poor reflection on the purveyors of over ripe tripe!

  2. The self-styled ‘exclusive’ in the Daily Excess, was patently a complete and utter load of b****, that only a congenital idiot would give any credence to. Therefore, I am sure you were not fooled by it! Spurs and Juventus are not in any kind of talks regarding Pochettino and the manifestly absurd idea of swapping him for Allegri exists only in the feverish imagination of some low-life, prevaricating, tabloid hack. It’s fake news. Therefore ignore it.
