Report: Tottenham could be set to loan out academy starlet on deadline day

The Evening Standard have revealed on their live transfer blog (31/01/22 at 12:47 pm) that Tottenham Hotspur could be set to loan out Harvey White before this evening’s deadline.

There are expected to be a flurry of departures from Spurs over the next few hours, with the club thought to be working on deals to offload the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Matt Doherty and Bryan Gil (The Mirror).

According to The Evening Standard, White could also leave the North London club on a temporary deal.

The 20-year-old has been in exceptional form for Tottenham’s Under-23s this campaign, with five goals and six assists in 17 matches so far (Transfermarkt).

The midfielder excelled on loan at Portsmouth in the second half of last season and it now looks like he might get another chance to prove his quality in the lower leagues.

Spurs Web Opinion

Playing competitive football in the Championship or League One would be better for White’s development than continuing to feature for the Under-23s.

I suspect that Spurs would prefer to send him back to League One as they would want to ensure that the youngster gets regular minutes under his belt.
