Report: Tottenham could make double swoop for Serie A duo this summer

A report in Italian publication Tuttosport (via Tuttomercatoweb) has claimed that Spurs could make a sensational double swoop for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.

Spurs could be in the market for a creative midfielder this summer after club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele failed to hit the expected heights in his first season in North London. The Frenchman has even been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer (Sport).

The report claims that Jose Mourinho has set his sights on the Serbian midfielder, Milinkovic-Savic, who has reportedly been on Tottenham’s radar for the last two years (the Mirror).

Tuttosport (via Tuttomercatoweb) also claims the Spurs boss wants to bring Strakosha in to replace Hugo Lloris as the club’s new number one.

Il Tempo in Italy previously reported that Tottenham faced competition from Leicester City for the 25-year-old shot-stopper.

Spurs Web Opinion

As excited as I am to see us linked with Milinkovic-Savic, I would hate for him to be a replacement for Ndombele. It is evident that the Frenchman has the talent needed to be one of the best midfielders in the world. While his attitude and fitness have left a lot to be desired, I hope he’s given another chance. However, if Jose has already made up his mind on him, then we will have no choice but to back his judgement and get rid of Ndombele.
