Report: Tottenham could now sign former player on loan to ease injury crisis

Tottenham Hotspur may be on the lookout for a new striker after they received bad news regarding Harry Kane’s injury last week.

Kane was taken off against Southampton on New Years Day after overstretching to turn the ball home for 1-1, only for the goal to be chalked off for offside.

Tottenham have since revealed that Kane managed to rupture the tendon in his left hamstring in this match, and surgery would be needed to correct the issue.

The club claimed that April would be the aim for Kane’s return to training, meaning he will likely miss the majority of the rest of the season.

It has now been reported that Spurs could look towards Fernando Llorente to solve their problems, as he often did in the Champions League last year when Kane was injured (Gazzetta dello Sport via Football Italia).

Although Llorente left on a free in the summer, he could be re-signed by Spurs on a loan deal this month, despite the fact that he turns 35 in February.
