Report: Tottenham could resort to final Mauricio Pochettino attempt

Tottenham Hotspur could resort to making a final attempt to lure Mauricio Pochettino back to the club or turn to Ajax’s Erik ten Hag, according to the Evening Standard.

The North Londoners looked to be making progress with the potential appointment of Antonio Conte, only to decide to change their mind after becoming concerned over some of his demands and perceived reluctant to work with some of the younger players within the ranks.

Alasdair Gold admitted during a video recorded on his YouTube channel (3:32) on Wednesday that any prospect of a return to Tottenham Hotspur for Mauricio Pochettino is now over with Paris Saint-Germain refusing to budge on a potential exit.

Ten Hag was linked heavily with the Spurs job in the days immediately after Jose Mourinho’s sacking but the speculation decreased when the Dutchman penned a contract extension with Ajax.

If Spurs have failed in their efforts to get Pochettino back, it seems that it would be an even difficult situation with the Conte situation having gone public. Whether Ten Hag would be prepared to leave the calmness of Ajax for the circus in N17 remains to be seen.
