Report: Tottenham could still go back in for Nagelsmann under one condition

Matt Law has reported that Tottenham are currently not looking at Julian Nagelsmann, but that could change if their eventual sporting director appointment recommends him as the next manager (Telegraph).

Despite regular links with the young German coach, it emerged last week that Tottenham do not intend to meet with Nagelsmann as he is not seen as the right fit at this moment in time (Evening Standard).

Simon Stone wrote for the BBC that Spurs felt the need to correct rumours about them hiring Nagelsmann in order to manage disappointment further down the road for fans.

SportBILD reported that Tottenham had doubts about handing Nagelsmann the job so soon after his Bayern Munich exit.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail claim it was actually the 35-year-old who turned down Spurs because he was not convinced about the planned direction for the summer.

According to the Telegraph’s latest report, it appears Spurs will look to hire a sporting director first, and that person’s opinion on Nagelsmann could impact any future change of heart.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Daniel Levy seems to have made a big mistake by not appointing Nagelsmann or Pochettino. We all know that Poch would have come back in a heartbeat and it would have been instant brownie points with the fans for Levy. Hopefully, he at least has a plan for passing up on them.
