Report: Tottenham could trigger transfer domino with Juventus and Wolves

According to CalcioMercatoWeb, Juventus are waiting for Tottenham to move for Weston McKennie before they attempt to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Leander Dendoncker.

McKennie made just 21 Serie A appearances for the Old Lady in Serie A last season (TransferMarkt) and with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that he could be allowed to leave Turin this summer, N17 has been touted as a possible destination.

Juventus are said to want a fee between £17 and £21 million for the USA international (CalcioMercatoWeb), who was signed for £18.45 million by current Spurs Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, during his 11-year spell at Juventus (TransferMarkt).

The 36-time Serie A champions have reportedly already eyed up McKennie’s replacement in the shape of Wolves ace Dendoncker (CalcioMercatoWeb).

With the Belgian entering the final 12 months of his contract at Molineux (TransferMarkt), Max Allegri is said to be keen on the combative midfielder in order to strengthen his team’s midfield (CalcioMercatoWeb).

Antonio Conte is said to be a big admirer of McKennie and feels that his energetic, busy style would suit the system that he is trying to implement at Spurs (CalcioMercatoWeb).

Spurs Web Opinion

As it is no secret that Conte wants midfield reinforcements this window (Evening Standard), McKennie is most certainly not the only player in this position that Spurs are considering this summer.

Whilst Conte’s blessing would be enough for me to back the signing, it is not one that would excite me all that much.
