Tottenham Hotspur have decided to let Tanguy Ndombele leave North London this summer, according to a report by Football Insider. The midfield man is currently valued at £46.8m by TransferMarkt.
There has been plenty of speculation around Frenchman’s future over the past few weeks but recent reports have hinted that Spurs are looking to hang on to the midfielder and help him turn his form around (Mirror).
However, it looks as if Tottenham have now given up hope of the 23-year-old succeeding at the club as Football Insider report that the Lilywhites are set to order agents to find Ndombele a new team this summer.
It is revealed that Tottenham are now willing to listen to offers for the midfielder and are likely to accept any significant bid that comes their way.
The report reveals that the Tottenham do not expect to recoup the £63 million (Sky Sports) they paid Lyon for Ndombele’s services last summer due to the financial coronavirus downturn. A swap deal is thus suggested as Spurs’ best option to get rid of the midfielder.
Previous reports have suggested that Barcelona are willing to offer Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo to Spurs in exchange for Ndombele (Sky Sports), but Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has shot down those claims.
Football Insider cites Ndombele’s strained relationship with Jose Mourinho as the main reason the midfielder is likely to leave but they say that any transfer depends on Spurs being able to find a suitable buyer.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is truth to this report. While Ndombele has an abundance of talent, it doesn’t seem like he is prepared to work hard to turn his Tottenham career around. It is also very likely that we might have to sell players to raise transfer funds this summer and given that Ndombele is likely to be in demand, the club might accept an offer of over £50m for the midfielder.
