Report: Tottenham defender finds himself on Bayern Munich shortlist

Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier certainly caught a few eyes when playing for England at the 2018 Russia World Cup last summer.

Tripps was a regular in the starting line-up at right wingback and was one of the very best in his positions throughout the entire tournament.

Defending, crossing, passing accuracy, the right-back even chipped in with a delightful whipped free-kick against Croatia in the semi-final.

Unfortunately, the England star quickly went to Tottenham flop as he endured his worst season yet for the Lilywhites.

It would be unfortunate if this one bad campaign, hampered by injury and fatigue, marked the end of Trippier’s Spurs career, but there is plenty of interest in him.

Napoli and Juventus were said to be fighting over him last month, with £25m mentioned as the valuation (Daily Mail). Since then, Atletico Madrid have also been linked to the Spurs star (The Sun).

However, Sky Sports now claim that Bayern Munich have Tripps on their shortlist to back up first choice Joshua Kimmich, although the Tottenham man may prove to be too expensive.
