Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham are in advanced talks with Malachi Fagan-Walcott over a new contract.

Fagan-Walcott has risen through the age groups in the Spurs academy and was handed his first-team debut by Jose Mourinho in the Champions League round of 16 away leg against RB Leipzig in 2020.

The versatile defender, who can operate as a centre-back as well as at right-back, spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish side Dundee FC.

The teenager has been a regular for Tottenham’s Under-23s this season, having made 13 appearances in Premier League Two (Transfermarkt).

Football Insider claim that Fagan-Walcott has been regularly training with Antonio Conte’s first team over the last few months.

The defender is said to be highly regarded at the club, with the Lilywhites allegedly close to tying him down to a new deal It is revealed that Spurs are expecting the terms to be finalised soon with the 19-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is fantastic news for Spurs as Fagan-Walcott has been one of the standout performers for the Under-23s this season. If he does put pen to paper on a new contract, I would expect the teenager to be loaned out to a League One or League Two club next season.
