Report: Tottenham defender likely to leave this summer for £13m

Juan Foyth his likely to make his loan move to Villarreal permanent in the summer, Football.London report.

Foyth, who struggled for regular first-team opportunities last season after Jose Mourinho arrived in North London, joined Unai Emery’s side on a season-long loan deal in the summer.

The defender has put in some decent performances for the Yellow Submarine this season and has proved his versatility by playing at centre-half, right-back and as a defensive midfielder.

Foyth, who has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, appears to have established himself as a regular starter for Villarreal over recent weeks.

Football.London claim that the La Liga club have an option to make Foyth’s loan deal a permanent transfer for around £13m.

It is said that Villarreal are prepared to take up the option at the end of the season to bring the Tottenham star to the Estadio de la Ceramica.

With Tottenham looking to strengthen their backline in the summer, Foyth could be viewed as the defender who is most expendable.

Spurs Web Opinion

Jose does not seem to think Foyth possesses the physicality required to be a central defender in the Premier League. The Argentine has not managed to live up to his potential at Spurs but I still believe he could turn into a top player in the future. It is looking increasingly like that is not going to happen at Tottenham.
