Report: Tottenham defender now ‘close’ to an exit

According to a report from Italian publication Il Resto del Carlino, Serge Aurier is close to sealing an exit from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Aurier has just 12 months left to run on his contract and the right-back has admitted that he has come to the end of a cycle and is thus looking to leave the club this summer.

While a return to Paris Saint-Germain was reported to be on the cards for the 29-year-old last month, it then emerged then that the Ligue 1 giants decided to snap up Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan instead.

AC Milan have also been credited with an interest in the Ivory Coast international.

The latest update from Il Resto del Carlino discusses Milan’s interest and suggests that the Tottenham star could indeed be on his way to the San Siro this summer.

It is asserted that it is only a matter of time before Aurier seals his exit from the North London club.

Hopefully, Aurier’s impending exit means that Tottenham are looking at the likes of Max Aarons and Tariq Lamptey as potential replacements. There is also a chance that we might see a different version of Doherty as a wing-back under Nuno if indeed the Portuguese coach sticks to his tried and tested back three.
