Report: Tottenham enquire about RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol

According to France Football journalist Nabil Djellit, Tottenham have enquired about the availability of Red Bull Leipzig centre-half Josko Gvardiol.

Gvardiol made 28 Bundesliga appearances last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists along the way (TransferMarkt).

Amidst reported interest in the 20-year-old from Spurs (Football.London), Gvardiol himself suggested that he is happy and expects to remain at Leipzig next season (BILD).

With the Croatian under contract until 2026 (TransferMarkt), Dominico Tedesco’s men won’t be in any rush to let Gvardiol leave this summer

The Daily Mail reported this summer that Leipzig are determined to hold on to the 20-year-old, despite interest from both Spurs and Chelsea. Journalist Ryan Taylor backed up the idea that Gvardiol will likely stay another season with the German club.

However, Djellit claims that Fabio Paratici has made initial contact with Die Rotten Bullen to inform the club of his interest in the young defender.

The left-footed Gvardiol already has the experience of playing in a back-three with Leipzig. Combine this knowledge with his pace, physicality, and poise in possession and it is clear that this would be a great signing for Spurs. The youngster would likely rotate with the impressive Davies and be given time to hone his craft in N17.
