Report: Tottenham enquire about taking this star on a free transfer in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur are currently set to lose three first-team players at the end of this season, and senior players under the Pochettino era at that.

Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, and Jan Vertonghen have all been mainstays in that Pochettino starting XI for the majority of his reign in North London.

However, all three have under a year left on their current deals, with no talk of new contracts as of yet. The trio will be able to talk to non-English clubs in January about possible pre-contract agreements ahead of summer free transfers.

With Spurs possibly losing stars for nothing, it may be important to bolster the squad with some free transfers of their own.

One man who is now being linked is Napoli star, Dries Mertens, whose contract comes to an end in the summer.

A report has indicated that Spurs and Arsenal have enquired about the player, while Inter Milan are also said to be interested (Il Mattino).
