Report: Tottenham enter race to sign Serie A midfielder on loan

Tottenham have joined the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi on loan this month, according to 90min.

Spurs are in the process of improving their squad under the guidance of manager Antonio Conte, with the Italian tipped to put multiple first-team players up for sale.

The 52-year-old is said to have placed central midfield as an area to strengthen and could subsequently look to recruit one of his former players.

90min report that Conte could secure a reunion with Inter man Sensi, with Spurs having allegedly joined a host of English sides competing to secure a loan move this month.

The 26-year-old spent two years under Conte at the San Siro, but has struggled during his time at the Nerazzurri due to a largely injury-plagued stint.

Sensi has made just one start in Serie A this term, with manager Simone Inzaghi preferring the likes of Nicolo Barrella, Marcelo Brozovic and Hakan Calhanoglu in the heart of midfield instead.

Sensi has been regarded as one of Italy’s most talented midfielders, but he has a really dodgy injury history that could be enough to put a club off altogether. But, Conte knows him and understands what he could bring to the team.
