Report: Tottenham expected to make offer for Swiss star this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make an offer for Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor in the summer, but they will face competition from AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Okafor has been with Salzburg since the summer of 2020 and has registered an impressive 34 goals and 23 assists for the Austrian side across 108 appearances (Transfermarkt).

The 22-year-old has seen his season interrupted by injury this year, but has racked up ten goals already this campaign (Transfermarkt), including a goal against Chelsea in the Champions League.

Spurs are already thought to have made contact regarding the availability of the Swiss attacker (Florian Plettenberg). Salzburg’s director, Christoph Freud, has openly admitted the player could be sold this year, too (Sky Germany).

More recently, Freud told Salzburger Nachrichten that Okafor is ready for the ‘next step in his career’.

A report in The Times once again linked Tottenham to the player, but added that London rivals Arsenal could be keen, too.

Now, the latest from Salzburger Nachrichten suggests Tottenham will also have to look out for interest from Italy, with both Milan clubs monitoring Okafor’s situation.

The report suggests there “should be offers” from Spurs, Inter, and AC in the summer.

Whoever makes a move, it is thought to be “highly likely” now that Okafor leaves Salzburg at the end of the season.

The young striker is valued at £22 million and his current contract expires in the summer of 2024.

Spurs Web Opinion

The speculation keeps on mounting regarding Spurs and Noah Okafor, and I can definitely see this being a move that happens for us.

He’s a talented player, who isn’t going to cost an arm and a leg, and even if we don’t qualify for the Champions League you can still imagine him wanting to join us.

I would not be surprised to see these rumours intensify as summer approaches.
