Report: Tottenham eye 20-year-old as potential Hugo Lloris successor

Tottenham Hotspur have identified Accrington keeper Toby Savin as a potential successor to Hugo Lloris.

The Sun claim that the north Londoners have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action for the League One outfit.

Lloris was set to be out of contract at the end of the current campaign until earlier this week he put pen to paper on a new two-and-a-half-year contract extension which will extend his stay beyond a decade (Spurs official).

The French World Cup winner revealed in an interview with Spurs TV that he’ll help to find his successor in goal to play for Spurs for the next 10 years.

Savin, who is an imposing presence at 6′ 4″, has also been on the radar of Southampton during the first part of last season with the shot-stopper having gone on to secure his place as the number one at the Wham Stadium.

Tottenham have just over two years to groom their successor to Hugo Lloris and to a certain degree, it would make sense to bring someone in soonish so they can work alongside the club captain and learn from the best.
