Report: Tottenham eye rumoured Everton managerial target; Paratici keen to appoint

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new head coach has led them to target Nuno Espirito Santo, according to talkSPORT.

The report claims that Tottenham’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici has set his sights on the former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss to succeed Jose Mourinho.

The 47-year-old left Molineux at the end of last season and has already snubbed an opportunity to take over at Crystal Palace and has been heavily linked with the vacant managerial role at Everton following Carlo Cudicini’s departure to Real Madrid.

Paratici previously led the club’s discussions with former target Paulo Fonseca, only for the deal to collapse after Spurs switched their attention to Gennaro Gattuso after he left Fiorentina.

Gattuso had departed from Fiorentina after 22 days in charge and speculation of his appointment led to a number of Tottenham fans to get the hashtag #notoGattuso to start trending on Thursday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo is not the answer to Tottenham’s search, the Portuguese is coming off a disappointing season at Wolves and has not shown enough during his time at Molineux to prove he is ready for a top six job.
