Report: Tottenham eyeing move for left-back who is keen on exit

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a summer move for VfB Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa, according to German news outlet SportBILD (as relayed by Sport Witness),

Sosa has been one of the most productive wing-backs in German football over the last three years, with the Croat having registered 32 assists in 101 appearances for Stuttgart (Transfermarkt).

Sport Bild clam that the 24-year-old has been ‘on the verge’ of leaving the Bundesliga club on several occasions over recent years, with only ‘a matter of details’ preventing him from doing so.

However, it is said that Soso has now made up his mind that he wants to ‘take the next step’ in his career this summer, with Spurs thought to be keeping a close eye on his situation.

The report adds that the North London club could face competition from the likes of Real Sociedad and Sevilla for the left-back, with the player having made no secret of the fact that he ‘would be tempted’ by a transfer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While most of us would have dismissed this rumour until a month or two ago, given that Udogie is set to arrive at the club next summer, this does not seem so outlandish right now.

That is because Perisic has flattered to deceive in a major way this season and it would not be surprising if the Croat follows Ryan Sessegnon out of the door this summer.
