Football Transfers have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are now plotting a move for Villarreal star Alex Baena this summer.
Baenea has come on leaps and bounds over the last two seasons, having been one of the most consistent midfielders on show in La Liga and even winning two caps for Spain.
Spurs are on the lookout for midfield additions this summer and it has now been revealed by Football Transfers that they could turn their attention to the Spaniard.

The report points out that the North London club are particularly drawn to the 22-year-old’s versatility as they see him as an option who can cover for a number of positions, including at number ten and in either flank.
The outlet reveals that the attacking midfielder is represented by Joshua Barnett of CAA Base, an agency with whom Spurs have a good relationship.
However, Tottenham are not the only club eyeing Baena, with GiveMeSport revealing earlier this month that Unai Emery wants to reunite with the player at Villa Park this summer.

Banea would be a relatively cheap option compared to the other midfielders we have been linked with and Postecoglou may be eyeing him as a replacement for Giovani Lo Celso, who looks likely to depart Tottenham this summer.
