Report: Tottenham fear Pochettino summer exit

Tottenham Hotspur are effectively out of the title race after suffering back-to-back losses against Burnley and Chelsea in the space of four days.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino couldn’t hide his disappointment, particularly after the loss at Turf Moor when questioning the team’s desire.

The Argentine even claimed ahead of the Chelsea game that it could take as much as 10 years for the club to win a league title.

According to a report in the Sun, the Tottenham hierarchy fear that Pochettino could push through a move to Real Madrid in the summer owing to the frustration of failing in the title race once again.

The report also claims that Madrid came in for Pochettino last summer as well but Daniel Levy turned them down, after which the 46-year-old signed a new five-year contract with Spurs.

The Spanish giants are having a tough season at the moment and could make another approach for the Argentine at the end of the season.

Pochettino has previously talked about how he would like to stay and build a legacy at Tottenham.

Spurs fans will be hoping he follows through with his words instead of deciding to jump ship.
