Report: Tottenham considered front-runners for 25-year-old’s signature

The Daily Mail have claimed that Tottenham are currently leading the race for Joachim Andersen’s signature.

Tottenham are expected to prioritise strengthening in central defence this summer on the back of their defensive struggles this season.

A shakeup is expected in the backline, with the futures of both Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld reportedly in doubt

Spurs have been linked with several central defenders over the past couple of months including the likes of Nikolo Milenkovic, Jannik Vestergaard and Lewis Dunk

However, the player who has been most heavily linked is Andersen, who impressed on his season-long loan at Fulham.

Fabrizio Romano previously stated that the 25-year-old is the North London club’s number one centre-back target.

The Atheltic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke revealed in The View From The Lane podcast last month that the Dane had agreed to join Spurs and that the Lilywhites now have to hammer out an agreement with Lyon.

The Mail have now become the latest publication to state that Tottenham are at the front of the queue for Andersen.
