Report: Tottenham handed boost in their pursuit of Joachim Andersen

The Evening Standard have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Joachim Andersen have been boosted by the central defender’s desire to play in the Premier League next season.

Andersen has impressed during his season-long loan spell at Fulham despite the Cottagers’ struggles this campaign.

Some reports have claimed that Spurs have identified the Denmark international as the man to replace Davinson Sanchez, who could be on his way out of the club.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold said on Friday that Tottenham like the Lyon man and will try to compete for his signature this summer.

The Evening Standard have now revealed that Spurs have been tracking Andersen since his Sampdoria days and could hold talks with Lyon about the defender at the end of the season.

It is explained that Andersen desires to remain in the Premier League and would prefer to sign for a club competing in Europe next season.

It is asserted that the defender, who is valued at £20m by Lyon, is happy in London, thus potentially handing Tottenham an advantage in the race for his signature.
