Report: Tottenham have abandoned their pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic

According to a report from Firenze Viola, Tottenham Hotspur have abandoned their pursuit of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham this summer with Alasdair Gold even revealing in the most recent episode of the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast that the 21-year-old was Fabio Paratici’s number one striker target.

The centre-forward, who scored 21 goals in the Serie A last season, is also thought to be on Atletico Madrid’s radar. Reports emerged earlier this week that Manchester City had also entered the race for the Serbian international’s signature.

Firenze Viola now claim that Spurs are no longer interested in Vlahovic amidst the recent developments over Harry Kane’s future.

The report explains that the Lilywhties wanted the 21-year-old to replace the England captain but they no longer need a number nine after Daniel Levy turned down City’s approach for Kane.

It is asserted that ‘all contacts’ between Tottenham and Fiorentina were ‘first suspended’ and they have now been completely ‘abandoned’.

If there is truth to this report, then it is good news for Spurs as it means Kane is staying for another season. This would also explain why City have now allegedly entered the race for Vlahovic’s signature.
