Report: Tottenham have agreed a fixed fee with Ajax for Bergwijn sale

The print edition of Algemeen Dagblad (27/06/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) has revealed that Tottenham have agreed on a fixed transfer fee with Ajax for Steven Bergwijn, although the North London club are still pushing for add-ons.

AD have now revealed that the Eredivisie giants have already agreed on a fee of around €25m (£21.5m) with Spurs for the Netherlands international.

It is explained, however, that Antonio Conte’s men want some variables attached to the deal so that they can present it as a €30m (£25.8m) transfer.

The report adds that, in addition, Spurs also want to announce an attacking signing themselves before officially confirming Bergwijn’s exit.

The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare had also claimed last week that the Lilywhites hope to bring in attacking reinforcements before letting the former PSV Eindhoven winger leave.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite the heavily links to the likes of Raphinha and Richarlison, it does not seem as if Spurs are particularly close to signing any attacking player.

So, unless the club have a surprise up their sleeve, it seems unlikely that we are going to announce the capture of a forward before Bergwijn seals his departure.
