Report: Tottenham have been prepared to sell first-teamer for the past year

Tottenham Hotspur have been ready to offload Serge Aurier for the past year, according to The Times.

The Ivory Coast international has admitted that he came close to leaving the club last summer (Bal des Productions).

His form has improved since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, with some reports suggesting that the defender could be handed an extension by Spurs (Le10Sport).

However, the defender is now in hot water for breaking the coronavirus lockdown protocols on multiple occasions.

After posting a video training together in close proximity with Moussa Sissoko last month, Aurier posted a picture of himself getting a haircut from a barber earlier this week .

The Sun reported that Tottenham are furious with the right-back for his behaviour and are set to fine him two weeks wages for his latest transgression.

They revealed that club could decide to move him on this summer, a claim which has also been backed by The Times who report that the Lilywhites have been looking for buyers for the former PSG man for twelve months.

Aurier’s response to the criticism was as bad if not worse than his decision to break the lockdown rules in the first place. I am not surprised that the club are furious with him. However, I don’t expect him to be sold this summer unless there is a major breakdown in his relationship with the Tottenham hierarchy or Jose Mourinho.
