Report: Tottenham have ‘cemented’ out-of-work manager as top target

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have ‘cemented’ Julian Nagelsmann as their top target and are prepared to battle Chelsea for the German’s signature.

The report states that Nagelsmann is not keen on jumping into a new job after his sacking by Bayern Munich and wants to wait until the summer.

It is explained that Spurs are happy to wait until the end of the season for the German and that they are ‘prepared to do whatever it takes’ to secure his signature.

Despite links to the likes of Mauricio Pocehttino and Luis Enrique over recent weeks, it is asserted that Tottenham’s ‘full attention’ is now on getting a deal for Nageslmann over the line.

The report adds that the Lilywhites face a battle with their London rivals, Chelsea, for the 35-year-old’s signature as his name features prominently in the Blues’ wishlist too.

Tottenham are said to be hoping that qualifying for European football could give them an advantage over Chelsea in the race for Nagelsmann’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no reason to think that the Spurs job would not be at least as attractive to Nagelsmann as the Chelsea one.

In fact, one can argue that Tottenham are only two or three top signings (in central midfield and defence) away from having a team that can compete while the Chelsea squad needs serious surgery.

Qualifying for next season’s Champions League would also give us a significant advantage over the Blues.
