Report: Tottenham have ‘knocked at the door’ for forward valued at over £50m

Foot Mercato have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs to have expressed an interest in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.

Kolo Muani has been in outstanding form for Frankfurt this season, with eight goals and 11 assists to his name across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

The striker’s reputation blossomed even further during the World Cup, with the 24-year-old finding the back of the net for France in their semifinal clash against Morocco.

Foot Mercato state that Spurs, Bayern Munich and Liverpool had ‘knocked at the door’ for Muani even before the World Cup.

It is explained that Frankfurt valued the centre-forward at around €50m (£44m) before the tournament and his value has now risen to around €60m (£52.8m) on the back of his showing in Qatar.

In fact, it is said that the Bundesliga club are hopeful that Muani can even be their most expensive sale, beating out the €60m (£52.8m) they made from Luka Jovic’s sale to Real Madrid in 2019.

Foot Mercato add that while Frankfurt’s plan for the moment is to hang on to the Frenchman until the end of the season, they could change their minds if they receive an ‘excessive offer’ for the player this month.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham look certain to sign an attacker this transfer window, given the injury owes of Richarlison, Kulusevski and Moura this season. However, Conte will likely want an out-and-out winger who is capable of carrying the ball rather than a player of Muani’s profile, who is most comfortable playing as a number nine.
