Report: Tottenham have launched £17m bid to sign prolific 19-year-old

Fichajes.net have reported that Tottenham Hotspur have launched a €20m (£17.1m) offer for Red Bull Salzburg starlet Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko won several admirers after breaking into the Salzburg team last season, scoring 11 times and providing seven assists across all competitions in 2021/22 (Transfermarkt).

The Daily Express reported on Tuesday that Spurs are one of several clubs tracking the 19-year-old, who has been dubbed the next ‘Erling Haaland’.

However, the report added that Antonio Conte’s men are not poised to make a move for the teenager during this transfer window and that scouts from the North London club will continue watching him closely next season.

However, Fichajes have now suggested that Tottenham are leading the race to snap up Sesko this summer.

The publication primarily discusses Real Madrid’s interest in the striker, explaining that Los Blancos have been tracking him for a long time.

However, it is suggested that Sesko could end up moving to the Premier League, with Tottenham and Liverpool both said to be keen.

The report adds that Spurs have ‘shown the most interest’ in the youngster and have now submitted a €20m (£17.1m) bid to the Austrian club.

Paratici has shown during his time at Juve as well as during his spell at Spurs so far that he loves taking punts on young talent. So, like the Pape Matar Sarr deal last summer, Sesko could be a player who Spurs are planning on signing and loaning back out to Salzburg.
