Report: Tottenham have made decision on whether to sack or keep Conte

Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte are expected to part ways this week following the disappointment of the 3-3 draw with Southampton and the subsequent comments from the head coach (Telegraph).

Unsurprisingly, multiple publications had suggested over the last 24 hours that there was a real possibility of Tottenham parting ways with Conte immediately.

Football Insider claimed that there had been internal discussions within Spurs about asking the Italian to pack his bags and installing Ryan Mason as the interim head coach.

Meanwhile, The Guardian suggested that there were serious doubts over whether enough of the Tottenham players were still behind Conte, and that some of them would be happy to see him go immediately.

This was backed up by The Sun, who claimed that there was a feeling among the squad that the 53-year-old would be gone before the club’s next match against Everton on April 3.

If the latest report from The Telegraph is to be believed, that feeling is correct, with Spurs and Conte expected to come to an agreement as early as this week.

Spurs Web Opinion

Conte knew exactly what he was doing by attacking the players in the manner he did. He certainly did not sound like someone who was trying to spark a reaction out of the squad.

Instead, he sounded like someone who was trying to shift the blame for his failure and looking to get sacked. I am not surprised that he will get his wish sooner rather than later.
