Report: Tottenham have met with goalkeeper’s representatives ahead of summer

COPE have revealed that the representatives of Giorgi Mamardashvili have met with Tottenham and other Premier League clubs to discuss a summer move.

Spurs are expected to sign a successor to Hugo Lloris this summer, with Football.London’s Alasdair Gold reporting back in February that Mamardashvili is one of the names at the top of the North London club’s wishlist.

COPE now report that the Valencia number one’s ‘ ‘meteoric rise’ has not gone unnoticed by Premier League clubs, who are eyeing a summer move for the goalkeeper.

The report claims that several English clubs ‘have already made moves’ to sign Mamardashvili ahead of the transfer window.

The 22-year-old’s agent is said to have travelled to England recently and allegedly met with representatives from Spurs and Manchester United to ‘find out the conditions’ of his departure from the Mestalla.

The report states that while Mamardashvili has a release clause of €100m (£87.5m), Valencia would be ‘forced to negotiate a possible exit’ as they have to raise funds this summer.

COPE add that as things stand, neither Tottenham nor Man United have approached Los Che with any offer for the Georgian international.

Mamardashvili would certainly tick a lot of boxes for Spurs, given his age and the fact that he is good with the ball at his feet.

However, the high price might potentially put off the North London club, especially when cheaper alternatives like David Raya are expected to be available.
