Report: Tottenham have not given up on pursuit of £60m-rated star

According to the latest reports from Italy, Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in snapping up Dusan Vlahovic despite missing out on the Fiorentina striker during the summer transfer window.

Vlahovic was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham all summer, with Alasdair Gold even revealing last month that the 21-year-old was Fabio Paratici’s number one striker target.

The Serbian, who netted 21 goals in the Serie A last season, was thought to be valued at £60m by Fiorentina during the summer.

However, despite having just two years left to run on his contract, he ended up staying put at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.

The striker has subsequently admitted he received several proposals to leave the Viola over the summer but was keen on staying at the club.

Calciomercato.com have now claimed that the 21-year-old is close to renewing his contract with Fiorentina. However, it is asserted that Vlahovic still has several options across Europe, with Spurs, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus still hot on his heels.

This information has also been backed up by Calciomercato.it, who suggest the striker is in Tottenham’s sights and is also courted by Inter Milan.

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems unlikely that we will move for Vlahovic if Kane does not leave. Given that City are now said to be unlikely to re-ignite their interest in the England captain, the Tottenham man looks set to stay at least until the end of the season.

So, if we do get a striker in January, it will likely be a player in Vinicius’ mould, who would be happy to play second fiddle to Kane rather than a big-money singing like Vlahovic or Lautaro Martinez.
