Report: Tottenham have now put 25-year-old up for sale

According to a report from The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to cash in on Harry Winks this summer.

Winks’ development has certainly stagnated over the last couple of years and some would even argue that the midfielder has gone backwards.

The 25-year-old struggled to get game time under Jose Mourinho last season and lost his place in the England squad as a result.

While Winks has been linked with a move away from Spurs this window, some sources claimed last week that Nuno Espirito Santo was prepared to give the midfielder a chance to prove himself.

The Spurs academy graduate has started both of Tottenham’s pre-season games so far against Leyton Orient and Colchester United.

However, The Times have now suggested that that the England international does not have a future at the club.

The report alleges that the North London club have put the midfielder up for sale and are prepared to listen to offers.

With contradictory reports emerging over Winks’ future, we will have to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.

If Nuno has decided to take a close look at the 25-year-old before making a decision on his future, one would presume that the Portuguese coach would at least give the midfielder a few weeks to make an impression.
