Report: Tottenham have now set their sights on 25-year-old centre-back

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham Hotspur have now turned their attention to Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.

Clement Lenglet has become Tottenham’s fifth signing of the summer, with the centre-back joining on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona.

90 min reported a few days ago that, despite the Frenchman’s arrival, Spurs are continuing to monitor Torres.

It was also mooted earlier in the transfer window (Daily Mail) that the North London club were willing to use Giovani Lo Celso as a makeweight in a deal to sign the Villarreal star.

If talkSPORT’s latest update is to be believed, Antonio Conte’s men have now shifted their full attention to a pursuit of the Spain international.

The report asserts that Tottenham are trying to shift some of their fringe players in order to raise the funds required to sign Torres. It is alleged that the 25-year-old central defender is valued at around £30m by Unai Emery’s side.

Spurs Web Opinion

The report in talkSPORT suggests that Spurs are willing to loan Tanganga and Rodon out. So, if that is the case, we would have six central defenders if we sign both Torres and Lenglet, including 3 left-footers. I would be extremely surprised if we signed the Villarreal star this now.
