Report: Tottenham have offered defender to Barcelona

Based on multiple reports emerging over the past few weeks, it seems as if Juan Foyth may well have played his last game for Tottenham.

The defender has failed to kick on this campaign, with the injury he suffered in pre-season certainly not helping his cause. The 22-year-old has barely seen any opportunities come his way since Jose Mourinho arrived in North London.

Football Insider reported last month that Spurs have told the defender that he is free to leave when the transfer window opens.

Mundo Deportivo have now backed up that claim by reporting that Tottenham have offered Foyth to several clubs in Europe, including Barcelona.

The report reveals that Jose Mourinho wants to replace the Argentina international with a different type of central defender.

It is said that Barcelona are considering the Spurs star as an option to replace Samuel Umiti but they reportedly face competition from a lot of other clubs to land him.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am sure most Spurs fans would prefer to loan Foyth out rather than selling him permanently as his talent is obvious. However, we need to sell players to raise transfer funds this summer and he is one of the more expendable options in the squad along with the likes of Danny Rose and Kyle Walker-Peters.
