Report: Tottenham have offered Eriksen a ‘mammoth new deal’ to stay at the club

Football Insider have now claimed that Christian Eriksen has been offered a whopping £60m deal to remain at Spurs in the form of a new contract.

Tottenham are said to be working tirelessly behind the scenes to get terms agreed and a new contract signed for the Great Dane.

This comes after the European transfer window shut on September 2 and before Eriksen can speak to potential foreign suitors in January.

The report claims that a source at Spurs has revealed that Eriksen has been offered a £230,000 per week contract, which includes bonuses related to his performances.

As it stands, Eriksen would be leaving the club on a free in June 2020, with his contract expiring in well under a year.

Eriksen revealed in June 2019 that he wanted to move on from North London for a new challenge and a step up, but he did say that if no big bids came in, he would be open to a new deal (Ekstra Bladet).

Spurs Web Opinion:

This would be just as big as any new signing for Spurs. Eriksen is and always has been one of the best players at Tottenham and in the Prem and keeping him on a long-term deal would be a huge bonus. If they can then add Dybala in January and sign Vertonghen and Alderweireld to new deals, it would be one hell of a season.
