Report: Tottenham have opened dialogue with Harry Kane over a new contract

According to the Independent, Tottenham Hotspur have now opened initial dialogue with Harry Kane over a potential contract extension in North London.

The report claims that the new contract would keep 27-year-old Kane at Tottenham for the prime of his footballing career.

It was back in 2018 that Kane last signed a new Spurs deal, although Daniel Levy is said to want to keep his prize asset happy.

The Spurs chairman has reportedly been in contact with Kane’s representatives over a potential new deal that would increase his wages from the current £200,000-per-week mark.

The Independent name Man City and PSG, now under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino, as two clubs who may be tempted to make moves for Kane in the future.

Despite news of initial dialogue, the report also states that talks are not currently in the formal stage. Kane is apparently ‘receptive’ to the idea of signing a new deal.
