Report: Tottenham have ‘sat down at the table’ for talks about Serie A star

According to the print edition of Tuttosport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham have begun talks with Albert Gudmundsson’s entourage over a summer switch to the club.

Gudmundsson has been in outstanding form this season, with 15 goals and four assists to his name across all competitions so far and the speculation over the Genoa star’s future seems to be growing by the day.

Several Italian outlets have suggested over recent weeks that Spurs and Juventus are expected to battle it out for the versatile attacker this summer, with TuttoSport now being the latest to repeat that claim.

Spurs and Juventus both want Albert Gudmundsson

The publication says that Juve have already spoken to Gudmundsson’s representatives Gabriele Giuffrida and Valerio Giuffrida, with the Old Lady alleged to have tested the waters over a summer move.

Meanwhile, it is asserted that Tottenham have also ‘sat down at the table’ to discuss a potential deal for the 26-year-old’s entourage.

It report adds that the race is ‘open’ between the Lilywhites and the Bianconeri but Inter Milan are not thought to be in the contest as Gudmundsson is not attracted by the idea of moving to San Siro.

Some sources have suggested over recent weeks that Gudmundsson prefers to remain in Italy, which would give Juve a huge advantage. Tottenham will perhaps be hoping that Radu Dragusin can put in a good word about the club to his former teammate and convince him to make a switch to N17.
