Report: Tottenham have shown interest in Ligue 1 manager

Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in Rennes manager Bruno Genesio, according to French news outlet RMC Sport.

The report claims that Tottenham are admirers of the 55-year-old who is out of contract at Roazhon Park at the end of next season.

Genesio has faced Tottenham already this season when the north Londoners managed by Nuno Espirito Santo drew 2-2 in France in the Europa Conference League back in September, while the return fixture was shelved due to the coronavirus outbreak in the ranks of the Premier League side.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte revealed earlier this month that he will sit down with the club at the end of the season to discuss his future, having joined in November on an eighteen-month deal (Sky Sports).

Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also monitoring Genesio’s situation at the Ligue 1 outfit.

Rennes are currently third in the French top flight, one point behind Marseille and are currently well-placed to be in contention for Champions League football next season.

Tottenham fans certainly don’t want to even entertain the prospect of Antonio Conte walking away at the end of the season and having to press the reset button once again.

The pressure is on Daniel Levy to roll out the red carpet once and for all to do everything in his power to keep not only Conte, but also Harry Kane at the club for the next campaign.
