Report: Tottenham have ‘shown the most interest’ in 31-year-old La Liga star

Estadio Deportivo have indicated Tottenham Hotspur have shown the most interest of any club in snapping up Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou ahead of the summer.

The speculation linking Bounou with a summer move to Spurs has intensified over the last couple of weeks, with multiple Spanish outlets talking up the possibility of the transfer going through.

AS were the first to report on February 13 that Tottenham have identified the Sevilla number one as the man to take over the gloves from Hugo Lloris.

This was quickly followed by a report in La Razon suggesting that the Lilywhites would be willing to offer Bryan Gil to the La Liga club as part of a deal for the goalkeeper.

Fichajes.net then claimed a few days ago that Antonio Conte’s men were ready to launch a €20m (£17.8m) offer for the Moroccan but added that they could face competition from fellow Premier League sides, West Ham United and Manchester United.

Estadio Deportivo have now also reported on Man Utd’s interest in Bounou but they make it clear that it is Tottenham who seem the most interested in signing the goalkeeper.

The publication also explains that the 31-year-old will be ‘one of the first’ to leave the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium during the summer as he is one of Sevilla’s most sellable assets and the club already have a decent backup goalkeeper in Marko Dmitrovic.

Interestingly, all of these reports have come from Spanish outlets, with no British publications reporting on Tottenham’s interest in Bounou. So, it is clear that the news is coming from sources inside Sevilla.

Paratici might have enquired about the Moroccan’s availability but that does not mean that he is likely to be the North London club’s top target ahead of the likes of Jordan Pickford and David Raya.
